If you're not comfortable with Chrome or Firefox having this permission when you're not taking a proctored exam, you may disable the permission after each exam so long as you enable it before taking your next exam with ProctorU. If you do not see the browser in screen recording options, you can do this at the time of your exam when you're prompted to share your screen with ProctorU through the Chrome or Firefox extension. Here's a video of the process in case you find that easier to follow: The change will not take effect and you will not be able to share your screen until you quit and restart your browser. Note: If you have already completed these steps while on Catalina and then upgraded to Big Sur, you should not have to adjust these settings a second time. If you are running macOS Catalina - version 10.15 or later - or, any version of Big Sur, you must grant Google Chrome or Firefox access to the new screen recording permission in order to share your screen for a proctored session with ProctorU.
Apple introduced new security features with the release of OS Catalina and these also apply to Big Sur.
